EZchip Technologies: Ready to Ramp [view article]
Well, I have no comments for the other parts of this article, but can't agree on this calculation, "annual NP-3c shipments by EZchip of 140,000 processors (10,000 chassis x 7 line cards x 2 NPUs per line card)."

The Cisco 7600 routers are mainly used as edge and access routers in service providers. For a chassis, only 1 or 2 10G cards are needed for uplinks while other slots are for slow speed downlinks. Fully loaded with all 10G ports on 1 c7600 is quite rare.

    So 10k chassis x 1.5 cards x 2 npu = 30k processors. This is a reasonable estimation.

I know what he's smoking and it's great stuff! I've been tracking this company for a few years and the new NPUs have been tested and are generations above anything else. There's basically no competitor. I completely agree with the author's projections. In fact, I think they're conservative. Reply

Don't know what you are smoking, but as an engineer who deals with off the shelf NPUs, EZChip can't scale properly beyond 10G as the architecture is fundamentally flawed for a great majority of high volume applications. Based on what I see from an engineering standpoint, I don't buy your projected earnings numbers. Reply

Small Cap Comparison: Orckit and LanOptics/EZchip Each Has Strengths [view article]
You have overlooked the recent SEC filing of 1,051,574 Shares by Nokia Venture Partners II L.P. giving Nokia an 8.7% equity position into Lanoptics. If the IBM 3.5% equity position is still valid, that represents a lot of smoke. There must be a fire burning. IMHO Reply

LanOptics Raising Stake In EZChip - A Bullish Sign [view article]
With 6 consecutive quarterly revenue increases in excess of 100% quarter to quarter, can this train possibly stall? I don't think so.
Sooner or later the market will awaken to this issue.

Price behavior in anticipation of Financials due to release in the next few weeks, plus the Roth Conference February 19th spells the beginning of the next leg of the run begun in mid 2006.

The train may have left the station but it is now only at the 1st stop of a long ride to come. IMHO!
    I have a long position.

LanOptics' EZChip Poised For Mega-Growth? [view article]
I read the article by Mr. Cohen and emailed haven't heard back. I'm long have been for over a decade. Can Mr. Cohen or another explain? How our chips compare to those of Xellerated Inc.?
What are clear indications of capx spending has begun and are directed now at triple play? Mr. Cohen saw the chips on the board and declares the company is Intel how is that so? Being on a board, doesn't cut it given the company has 90+ OEM’S what are clear indications this is coming to a headend?

    Any help?

LanOptics Raising Stake In EZChip - A Bullish Sign [view article]
    Mr. Schmitt:
You are missing and overlooking the fact that the process has a precedent. In 2002 with Apex partners and again in 2005 with IBM,Tamar VCs & others, none of which produced any marked impact on the trading values of LNOP. These VCs are funding with a 10 to 1 appreciation expectation.
You also need to know that there are selling restriction in place. As I understand it to be true, 1/3 cannot be sold for 180 days; 1/3 cannot be sold for 90 days; the remainder may be sold at will.

All these investors are pretty savy traders in their own right, If they had little or no confidence in the future of EZchip, would they be where they are?

This makes no sense. Existing LNOP shareholders are diluted and you think this is good? Sure it's good! Good for the EZ-Chip investors with an illiquid share who now have access to capital markets!

What is going to happen if all these new shareholders start cascading their liquidity into the market! You can't tell me they are not going to sell- otherwise why would they agree to the swap! What sort of lockup agreements are in place?

This is a meaningless event unless you examine the cost of issuing new shares and compare that against your expected performance of the company.

    What am I missing here?

I have a long position and have been trading LNOP (always long NEVER SHORT) for many years. 2007 will be a banner year for LNOP or EZchip which ever name they select when the aquisition has been completed.
This is the ground floor of a dramatically improved technology in high need & future high demand.
    IMHO
    Merry Christmas
